I trained as an Alexander Teacher in London from 1975 to 1978. Was former Director of The Virginia School for Alexander Technique, and guest teacher on other teacher training courses. Co-Founder of the residential course in the Alexander Technique that now takes place in North Carolina every summer. More on the Alexander Technique, here.
Over the last 27 years, presented performance classes and more for Guitar Craft and Guitar Circles in the US, Europe and South America with the central theme of my contribution being summed up as creative choices made possible by an expanded field of awareness. I still work with Guitar Circle projects as they need me. I enjoy writing, and it’s a good challenge for me.
As well as writing, I work with my wife, Ingrid Pape-Sheldon, on her photo business in Seattle. We have a new studio in Ballard, a well-loved Seattle neighborhood. I have a cool daughter on the East Coast, who comes to visit now and then. Our twenty-one year old cat, Boots, remains to keep an eye on us.
